With more than half a billion mobile subscribers and a penetration rate of only 38%, China is one of the biggest potential markets for mobile technology and services in the world, and this is especially true of technologies and services linked to 3G.

The Beijing 2008 Olympic Games will be the launch pad for 3G services in China, and TD-SCDMA will be the first into the market. The “TD-SCDMA Summit” will examine issues related to the provision of telecommunications services for the Olympic Games. Speakers from China’s government and the telecoms operators will outline the telecommunications services solutions needed for the Games.

Contributors from Datang Mobile, Anritsu, ZTE and other terminal vendors will talk about the Long Term Evolution (LTE) of TDSCDMA, the end-to-end testing environment, and the progress of TD-SCDMA trials in the 10 Olympic host cities around China. They will also talk about the terminal options that will be available to visitors to the Beijing Olympics. Panellists from operators, technology vendors and investment bodies will talk about TDSCDMA’s past and future. The summit will include a Question & Answer session to finish the seminar.
