Mobile Innovation Summit Update

NEW! TD-SCDMA Seminar – Hosted by TDIA

Attendance is free to all Mobile Asia Congress delegates, exhibition visitors, members of the press, and analysts.


With more than half a billion mobile subscribers and a penetration rate of only 38%, China is one of the biggest potential markets for mobile technology and services in the world, and this is especially true of technologies and services linked to 3G.


The Beijing 2008 Olympic Games will be the launch pad for 3G services in China, and TD-SCDMA will be the first into the market. The “TD-SCDMA Summit” will examine issues related to the provision of telecommunications services for the Olympic Games. Speakers from China’s government and the telecoms operators will outline the telecommunications services solutions needed for the Games.


Contributors from Datang Mobile, Anritsu, ZTE and other terminal vendors will talk about the Long Term Evolution (LTE) of TDSCDMA, the end-to-end testing environment, and the progress of TD-SCDMA trials in the 10 Olympic host cities around China. They will also talk about the terminal options that will be available to visitors to the Beijing Olympics. Panellists from operators, technology vendors and investment bodies will talk about TDSCDMA’s past and future. The summit will include a Question & Answer session to finish the seminar.

There is much talk about ecosystems and the benefits derived from numerous parties all striving for the same end goal. Hear from operators, vendors, infrastructure providers, and application developers why they have all chosen to invest time, resources, and money into HSPA.




This half-day seminar will give an overview of HSPA Mobile Broadband, examining the global market situation today and using operator case studies to demonstrate the success of mobile broadband services in both business and consumer deployments.


Through user experiences and operator implementations, the seminar will focus on the ongoing success of HSPA, and will provide an update on the global status in terms of products, networks and regulatory issues, and HSPA future plans.


The seminar aims to:

- Provide a high-level introduction to HSPA to include the business opportunities, customer benefits and drivers for deployment

- Position HSPA commercially and technically

- Assess the role of alternative wireless access technologies

- Provide concise information to allow operators to understand the benefits of HSPA deployment in relation to W-CDMA network optimisation and IP services

- Demonstrate practical successes through case study evidence of deployment strategies and commercial services from the Asia Pacific region
